The Investigational Drug Section (IDS) provides pharmaceutical services for:
1. Phase I investigational study treatments
2.
Conventional chemotherapy treatments
The IDS employs two pharmacists and one pharmacy technician with a combined total of over 25 years of experience. The IDS staff is happy to assist pharmaceutical companies in the development process of new agents, including:
1. Discussing methods to administer investigational medications
2. Providing a table referencing syringes, IV bags, and tubing used at START for compatibility testing
3. Assisting companies with obtaining syringes, IV bags, and tubing for compatibility testing
4. Answering or directing questions to the appropriate individual(s) at START
The IDS pharmacists also assist physicians in providing supportive care to patients.
